A British couple has been honoured by Cyprus Airways and the Cyprus Tourist Organisation on their 77th visit to Cyprus yesterday. Couple Mary and Ronald Vass were celebrated on their arrival in a ceremony at Larnaca airport. Ronald and Mary have been holidaying in Cyprus twice a year in April and October for almost four decades and always travel with Cyprus Airways. Their frequent flying has has resulted in them knowing almost the entire flight staff.
The couple, now in their 80s, said they have more friends in Cyprus than in England and always stay in Limassol, which is their preferred city.
Cyprus Airways spokesman, Tasos Angelis, said that he considers the Vasses to be two 'very good friends, who really love our people and country; a couple who feel Cyprus as their own home and who will say or do anything to defend it'.
During the ceremony, the couple were presented with flowers and memorabilia from both Cyprus Airways and the Cyprus Tourist Organisation and also wished the couple the number of times they come to Cyprus to become 100. |
